Well, it's finally here!

Deer season that is! Bow season opened Wednesday and our house hasn't been the same. We have ate, slept, and breathed the anticipation of this day for months. This is all John Paul watches, discusses, and focuses on for months at a time. I also love deer hunting but mostly just because it's peaceful and I love to watch God's creation wake up early in the morning. Now, you know I'm not a morning person, but when gun season rolls around, I will be found many a mornings before daylight in a stand somewhere in the back. I really do love it, but not like my husband. He honestly lives for deer season. Obviously his work and passion payed off Wednesday morning. He shot an 8 point in full velvet at about 8 o'clock. It was gorgeous to me, I've never seen a buck in full velvet. Steele thought it was the best thing ever. He was all decked out in his new Carhartt pants, his new boots, and his camo cap and coat. He was ready to go track that deer. He followed right behind Daddy and Pop as they looked for blood and the deer. He thought he was really doing something. I can tell it's in his blood, he's going to be a deer hunter!

Vacation, Baby Check-Up, etc.

Well, we're kind of slowing down from a busy few weeks. Most of the puppies have gone to their new homes, yay! But we have a new litter of 10 that are 2 weeks old, it's neverending around here. Our doctor's appointment on the 2nd went great. We had a sonogram, I tried to load the pics but to no avail. Baby Brooks #2 was moving like crazy and everything looked and sounded really good. Steele went and was very confused by us telling him that he was looking at a picture of the baby on the screen.
Last week we finally go to take a family vacation. We went to Fort Morgan, AL and had a great time even though the wind and waves were bad a couple of days. Steele absolutely loved the beach. I wasn't sure if he would like the sand or the ocean, but he did. He loved the big water and wanted to go back in as soon as he came out. He even told me Monday that he wanted to go back to the beach and see the big waves. Here are a few pics.

Here is just a cute collage of some cute pics that I took out in the yard the other day, I can't resist posting them because I think they turned out so good!

Bye, bye August

August has really flown by to me. Maybe it's the 20 puppies and the 2 year old that have made it seem that way or maybe just waiting on the next doctors appointment to hear the babys heartbeat and get to see it on the sonogram. I don't know, but it's almost gone. Steele has really taken an interest in letters and numbers this week. He has found a new favorite show, it's "Super Why" on PBS. We have to record it on DVR because he wants to watch it constantly. He is all day long asking me "Momma, what is it?" pointing to a letter or number on one of his books. He is so funny. If he thinks he knows what it is, he says it and then if you tell him different, he says "Ohhh, ok". He is such a mess.

I am totally excited about this weekend. John Paul and I are headed to Nashville for the PBR Bull Riding. We watch it all the time on TV and have been wanting to go for several years now. We really need a break for just the two of us too. I think it is going to be a great weekend, even though I have to go to the Bass Pro Shop on Saturday. I hope to get some shopping of my own in too. We haven't been away from Steele for more than a day in a while, but I'm sure he will make it better than we will.

Who knows?
Jason says "Whoop, whoop"

This is how I have found Steele numerous times in the last few weeks. He doesn't ask me to get him anything anymore, he just climbs up and gets it himself. This was a cake that I made and it ended up with small finger holes across the entire thing:)

Shout out!

Steele just wanted to give a quick THANK YOU shout out to Mrs. Mary Elizabeth who brought him this sweet Atlanta Braves jersey. She was in town for the furniture market and is one of Gram's sales people who she talks to a lot. It was so very sweet of her to think of Steele and bring him this awesome jersey. He loves it!!

Just a cute pic!

I just thought this was another cute family pic we took today when we were riding on the Kubota. My son is already catching on to deer hunting. I mean I knew it was coming, but I never expected it to be this early on. The other day John Paul said "Come on Steele, let's go take pictures." He meant of the puppies, but Steele's response was "deer camera?". I about fell off the couch. He loves to ride the Kubota and look for deer, but the ride usually ends up like the 2nd picture. Since he was little, all you had to do when he is tired is take him for a ride on the Kubota and he will be konked out before you get back to the house. He really is ready for deer season I think.

Check out Steele's shirt!

As you can tell, he is excited as well as his two aunts. We all are excited that Steele is going to be a big brother. He tells everyone we're having a baby. It is so cute how he says it. We just found out last week and didn't waste any time telling the family. It all happened really fast. I didn't feel good all weekend two weekends ago. Then I went to the doctor and just by chance asked to do a pregnancy test and it was positive. We told JP's family that night at dinner because it was Bub and Deloris's 30th anniversary. I wish I would have caught Clare's reaction on video tape, she almost fell backwards out of her chair when she finally saw his shirt. It was hilarious. Then we told my mom and Aunt Debbie. Then we called close friends and other family and Steele told them over the phone. I told Lindsey to put in on speaker phone Steele had something to tell her and to make sure her mom could hear. She said "Why is Steele gonna do something cute?" She had no idea. I am only about 7 weeks so I will be due at the end of March or beginning of April:)
