Introducing.....

Daniel Kase Brooks
born March 12, 2009 at 10:19 am
weighing in at 9 lbs.
measuring 20 inches long

I can't believe Kase was 1 week old on Thursday and I'm just now introducing him to ya'll. He is the sweetest baby ever. He is a great sleeper, barely ever cries unless he's really, really hungry, and just lays there and looks around grunting and cooing. The Lord really blessed us with a good and healthy baby, I think he knew we would need it with Steele around keeping us on our toes.

Steele loves his baby Kase and wants to hold him, talk to him, and read to him all the time. On the other hand, he is having quite a time adjusting to there being someone else that I have to feed, diaper, and hold besides him. Night time is especially hard, Steele has been waking up every time Kase feeds and crying. I do have wonderful help though and everything else has been great!
It was a very uneventful delivery. I went in at 7:00 am on Thursday morning. I was pushed back one surgery so we had to wait a little longer than planned. I had the best nurses and doctors that I could have asked for. Kase was born at 10:19 am and I can still see his little head as they poked him over the screen for me to see for the first time. Then of course they cleaned him up and handed him to his Daddy. Which in my opinion is so not fair, I carried him for 9 months and his Daddy is the first one to hold him. Oh well that's what happens when you have a section. I can also still see Steele's face light up when he saw him up close for the first time in my room. He was grinning from ear to ear. He tells everybody they can't take his baby Kase home with them and cried when he had to leave him at the hospital.

And of course here are some pictures, which is what you want to see anyway:)

Doesn't that look like a proud Daddy?

The Countdown is ON

3, 2, 1 days that is until we welcome baby boy #2 into our little family.
Well, this week is the week. I have to be at the hospital at 7:00 am on Thursday morning. I am the second surgery scheduled, so if no emergencies come up then we will have our second baby boy here around 9:00 am, March 12. I am pretty sure I have everything ready, just some last minute things to pack for the hospital. I really can't believe it's actually here. It's hard to believe I've been pregnant for 9 months, it goes by so fast. I can't wait to see how Steele is going to act as a big brother. We have had some trying days here lately, I think the end of the 2's is worse than the beginning. I know he is going to be a great big brother and I can't wait to see him love on our new little boy, who is still at this point nameless. A little ridiculous, huh. I promise that I'm not just holding out. I really am not 100 % sure what we are going to name him. He has the hiccups right now as I type. I am excited though and a little nervous at being a mom of 2. I will update with pics as soon as we get back home and back into the swing of things. I will leave you with a few of my little man and soon to be big brother. Have a great week!

Does it only snow in March in MS?

Steele was so excited this morning when he woke up and Daddy told him that there was snow outside. He wanted me to get him dressed right then and so I did and we were playing in the snow by 6:30 am. I couldn't find his gloves so he wore socks on his hands. He didn't like that he couldn't make snowballs with them on though so he told me " Momma, I need my hands cold again." He wanted me to take them off. He loved throwing snowballs at everyone including the dogs. We played for a while, then ate breakfast, played a little more, and then went to church. When we got home he was very upset that the snow was all gone. He went around to everything in the yard that still had any snow left and played with it.
